This book has it all for me. I love a good second chance and I get it with Drew and Alexa. Drew left her to join the Rangers and she has told the town he's a money grabbing jerk. She's getting gifts from a stalker, and even though she has a black belt and teaches Karate, Alexis needs extra help from Drew. There is snappy conversation sand plenty of action. This is a very good debut book from Lily Black and I'm looking forward to reading more from her. I was given this book by Hidden Gems for an honest and freely given review.Product details

Lily Black introduces us to Drew & Alexa is this romantic suspense drama Storm of Attraction. Drew & Alexa have a history however, Alexa holds animosity towards Drew for the way he abruptly ended their relationship so many years ago. Alexa is thrown together with Drew in varying different scenarios throughout this book & although she wants to keep her anger towards Drew alive, she finds that to be an ever increasingly difficult task.
This story was just an OK read for me. It was very predictable and I didn't really feel much depth nor connection in the characters. The ending was a bit disappointing in that with the experience that both Alexa & Drew have in in their respective fields, they failed dismally to keep themselves safe...it just didn't ring true.
A bit of believable sexual tension as well as some actual sex would have made this story more likable.

Storm of Attraction is an action-packed second chance romance. Alexa is a black belt instructor at Crouching Tiger, a studio that has been teaching the local community the art and mantra’s behind the martial arts. When her old flame comes back to Willowdale, Alexa is not thrilled. Especially once she learns that Drew is interested in opening up a mixed martial arts studio that will be in direct competition with the Crouching Tiger studio.
On top of everything already going on in Alexa’s world it seems that that small gifts she has been receiving are not from clients as she originally thought. After finding her car tire slashed it becomes clear to Alexa that she might have a stalker. To make matters worse the good citizen who came to her rescue was none other than Drew. After smearing his name all over town, he is the last person Alexa wants to accept help from but there’s nothing she can do about it.
Drew does not know why he is going out of his way to help Alexa, she hates him. It has been five years since they last saw each other but he still has this desire to help her. The studio she works for is his competition but he really wants to work together so that both the studios can co-exist peacefully. He figured that fixing her tire might help show her goodwill.
What Drew never expected was that when the stalker started escalating that it would be him offering her protection. After all no one would ever suspect that Drew and Alexa would be able to be in the same room without the verbal barbs flying. As the danger increases Alexa and Drew will also be forced to examine their own feelings, choose to follow their hearts or to let their own self-interests prevent them from something greater.
Storm of Attraction is definitely more than just a romance. There is a great mystery element in this story as to who the stalker was. I thought I knew but I was not sure and when the reveal happened it was not the end and I really liked that. What makes me excited as well is that this is a series, heck yeah! I am looking forward to the sequel of this book and I am absolutely looking forward to reading more from Author Lily Black. This was a good read!

If you are looking to escape into a world of suspense and romance for a few hours, this book is for you! I was completely drawn in and can't wait to see what new adventures Willowdale Book 2 will bring!

I enjoyed reading and listening to this book as I drove back and forth to work. It entertained me even though I had it figured out pretty fast.
Beautiful and grounded setting - it feels real and relatable from the beginning. Pacing is great - the novel gets going right from the start and keeps an excellent tension all the way through, with the romance and stalker suspense directly intertwined. And Alexa and Drew are wonderful, real characters with strength and smarts as well as skills. You really like them for who they are, limited understandings of each other not-withstanding. Ms. Black did a fantastic job writing each character's perceptions and context with honesty while keeping them separate from each other... like all of us, soul-searching communication is what makes relationships happen! I loved the solid side characters as well. Stayed up late reading to the end ). Thanks for the great story, Lily Black, I'm definitely looking forward to your next one!
